POETIC exists to address the vulnerabilities that drive exploitation and trafficking in youth, which are rooted in racism, sexism, and the objectification and adultification of youth of color. Specifically, we are committed to being an anti-racist organization that understands the history and impact of anti-Blackness as it manifests in every system that drives vulnerability in the juvenile justice, child protective and education systems, as well as the unaccompanied youth population. We aim to uphold equitable access to services, support and outcomes for everyone at POETIC.
